First thing we did was to head out towards the open water. Our kayak quickly became flooded from the large waves rolling in. :( We made our way to shore and dumped the water out, then headed back in among the mangroves into a secluded little lagoon. It was very peaceful and beautiful. From there, we went snorkeling. Again, we were first timers. Hardest part was walking into the water (backwards) with the fins on...the surf really pulls you in and the sand/beach beneath you gives way. Learned to love snorkeling, though!!
