wheals Posted February 3, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2008 :) We will be arriving into Bonaire on the Celebrity Summit in February, 2008. Does anyone know if this ship will dock in port or tender? Thanks!

DiveCruiser Posted February 7, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2008 Bonaire is a dock port. In fact that is a great place for a night dive. Bob
phantomjock Posted February 14, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 14, 2008 We'll be on the Summit this Saturday, Feb 16th. I printed up an itinerary on the Celebrity website and it shows the ship docked at every port except Bonaire. If you're travelling a different week, they may dock but you can find out for sure on the website----look for "Cruise Calendar."
Qino2 Posted February 14, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 14, 2008 Im on the March 8th Summit sailing and it also lists us as tendering in this port. There will be one other Princess ship there before us, I guess the pier can only accomodate one ship?
kneadsdough2cruise Posted February 17, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 17, 2008 Off the 2-9-08 Summit on and we did dock. Ship personnel said it was the first time they were able to dock as it is usually served by tenders. Actually two ships fit the day we were there. DaytonGirl Posted February 18, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2008 I just got back from a week in Bonaire yesterday - every cruise ship I saw last week was docked. For a while ships had to tender while the dock was being repaired but that appears to be over now. DiveCruiser is right - the city dock is a great night dive but you have to submit your passport number in advance and go with a registered divemaster. Permission from the harbour master will never be given when a ship is at the dock so cruise passengers won't be able to do this.
phantomjock Posted February 25, 2008 #8 Share Posted February 25, 2008 Just back from Summit: They said we'd tender but, due to calm weather and sea conditions, they were able to dock. I guess it all depends on the sea state.
