merlin1007 Posted February 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2008 A group of us did the 12 Meter Regatta (ocean racing) on St. Martin 2 years ago. We were on the Stars and Stripes and raced against the True North. It was the best excursion!!! I will be stopping in St. Martin in March and plan on doing it again. A similiar excursion is availible on St. Thomas. Hope you decide to do it. We had so much fun.
canadiancruisers11 Posted February 10, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2008 We did the America's Cup as well...Great time but I find they pack the boats a little too tight to maximize the dollars obviously...Did the Ocean Racing Challenge in Barbados and had a better time...80 foot ocean racing maxi yachts, you race on either Martella or Athina in a race down the coast and back... America's Cup in St. Maarten got me hooked on sailing, Ocean racing just reaffirmed love of being on the water... Newts

Len3 Posted February 25, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 25, 2008 Through NCL it is 99pp We did this in St. Martin and raced against 3 other ships. We were on the Stars and Strips and won the 7 leg race. It's the best excursion that we've done. We had to book through NCL and the cost was $90.00 pp and worth every penny. In Barbados, we put together a group of CCer's for the Silver Moon II - snorkeling with sea turtles and over coral reefs. It's a beautiful trip and cost about $105.00 pp - again with every penny.
