Since you're paying the TA to handle your booking for you Carnival won't do their job for them. If you have specific information it will make the process easier... BeachTeach Posted February 10, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2008 I just got an on board credit. How exactly does it work?
mfs2k Posted February 10, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2008 I just got an on board credit. How exactly does it work? You'll have a credit on your sail and sign account when you board, which you can apply to drinks, spa treatments, excursions, [hotos, shop purchases, supper club surcharges, or anything you are going to charge on board.. If you are not going to be able to use the whole credit through your purchases, i suggest you go to the casino cage, and buy chips on your sail and sign account, take the chips away, then later go cash them in at the cashier cage. You can turn your credit into cash that way.

I have not heard about "cashing out" you credit before  ??

I've never used the spa or bought photos. Maybe I will this time. Is it possible to book a shore excursion at home then pay on the ship?

I think all pre-booked shore excursions have to be paid for in advance. Ive never experienced the pre booking of excursions before. this is relatively new for carnival (last few years). If there is something you really want to do, and it might be limited, I suggest you book it in advance. It would be bad if you didnt get to do something you wanted, just because you were waiting to use your credit. Just my opinion

mfs2k Posted February 11, 2008 #11 Share Posted February 11, 2008 How do you know if you have a credit? You'll know if you have a credit. You have to seek it out. It doesn't just come to you. The easiest way to get a credit is to look for a price drop for your cabin category, and find the price is lower than the price you paid. Then you go after a credit by calling Carnival if you booked through them, or with your TA, if you booked that way. Dont be surprised if they tell you a reason you dont qualify. Dont take no for an answer if you are paying more than someone who is booking today. No one really likes to give money back. If you see a lower price, write down the name of the online agency you found it at, and be prepared to send the link to prove it. (The exception is if you see lower prices at an online agency that bought blocks of cabins as a group and are selling them at a discount in the last few months before sailing, so they dont get stuck with them)
