Wine

Will be going on the Journey May 16th from Barcelona to Copenhagen. Most cruise lines allow you to bring wine on board to drink in your cabin or pay corkage fee in dining room. Does anyone know the rules for Azamara on wine? Would like to by wine when in Bordeaux.

Thanks for any help

The official policy is: "Guests wishing to bring personal wine onboard with them at the beginning of the cruise may do so, limited to two (2) bottles per stateroom, but when consumed in any shipboard restaurant, bar or dining venue, each bottle shall be subject to a corkage fee of $25.00. . .Alcoholic beverages purchased in ports of call or from onboard shops will be stored by the ship and delivered to guest staterooms on the last day of the sailing. "

However, on our South American cruise, I saw passengers bring on several bottles of wine at ports without a problem.

We were on Journey's 12/23 South American trip. We brought wine on in several ports, no problem. There is a $25 corkage fee (not always assessed in the specialty restaurants). They will hold an unfinished bottle for a future meal if you request it. Overall the policy was fair and the service was excellent.

Thanks for the info. Do you recall anything about the wine list onboard?

We ate dinner in the specialty restaurants for the entire voyage, so the wine list information I give you will apply only to them. The wines were available by the glass as well as by bottle. The least expensive wines were local, Chilean and Argentinian (Merlot, Malbec) and one or two French (Cotes du Rhone, Beaujolais) and American (Merlot). The wine started at about $32, with a better selection in the $38-42 range. (This is reds only, didn't order any whites). Again, the bottles generally lasted us two dinners, we always began with a cocktail. Enjoy!

Hi Donray:

We have a thread in the Azamara Roll Calls for the people who are going in the Azamara Journey in May 16th from Barcelona to Copenhagen. We are sharing information about how to get the best excursions available with local companies which will offer a best tour excursion for a better price. So if you are interested you can access the thread to get some of the information we have collected for the last few weeks. Enjoy the cruise ...

Regards,
