Iannie Posted February 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2008 Dumb question of the day! On the nights that it's casual dress in the dinning room, can I just have my son in a polo or button up dress shirt and a pair of shorts? nice and dressy not jean material or do I need to put him in pants such as dockers? I know shorts for dinner is not ok but he is only 6? My girls will be easy but I now I'm freaking out about what to dress my son in. Thanks. txmomto1 Posted February 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2008 You'll get a lot of debate on this. I've seen plenty of children dressed in nice shorts, and no one said a word. That said, going strictly by the rules, no shorts. I've got to go and buy pants for my son! Times running out!

crusinmama06 Posted February 7, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 7, 2008 You are going on Carnival Elation, I assure you he will be FINE! I saw so many ADULTS in shorts on both carnival Elation and Carnival Sensation (4 day cruises) that no one would dare say anything to a child. Put it this way, they were the only dinners where I truly felt overdressed. Whole families came to dinner in t-shirts and shorts, the maitre D's said nothing. He will be perfectly fine :D BUT, he may be COLD. Just a little advise...they keep the air conditioned cranked on those ships. So I always tend to freeze in the DR
sunrise&set Posted February 8, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 8, 2008 I was wondering the same thing except my son will only be 13 months. I just bought him 2 outfits with the khaki style shorts and tropical button down shirts and I'm sure it'll be big so the shorts will be a little long. Honestly, I don't think anyone would think anything of it on a child.
