We are going on the Wind in June. We would love to spend time on the beach in Kaui, Maui and Kona. Are there any beaches close by within walking distance so we do not have to rent a car? Are there taxis parked at the piers? Thanks! BJ

You might want to take a look through the old messages on this board - beaches on the islands have been discussed in depth in the past.

I'm not sure where the Wind comes into Maui but I would suspect Kahului. There is a beach nearby the pier there but honestly, it's not the best side of Maui. The better beaches are on the west side and the south side. You might be better off taking NCL's shuttle to Lahaina and then taking the shopping shuttle from there to Whaler's Village which is right next to Kaanapali Beach.

There ARE taxis parked at the piers ... but I would HIGHLY recommend renting your own car. Much lower cost and more freedom. Hard to get lost on the outer islands.
