Anything open at 7:00a.m.?

If I am understanding this correctly, we are on the Mariner of the Seas leaving FL (EST) in July so Grand Cayman will be one hour behind us b/c they are on EST but don't observe DST.

 

Our itinerary states that we will be in port from 8-4 so we will be arriving at 7 their time? Will anything be open? Our tour doesn't start until 9:30.

Trust me if a ship is in they will be open. That is how they make money.

Well.... a lot is not open until 9am regardless of ships. Heck, Burger King doesn't open for breakfast until 7am.

 

It depends upon the number of ships in for the early start. If it is just one ship making a 7am port call, then large numbers of passengers won't be to shore before 8am. Shops won't neccessarily be open at 7am waiting for the first person off the tender.

Also keep in mind that most cruise ship's first tenders are reserved for passengers who have booked tours through the ship. So even with the best of intentions, you may arrive on the island later than you wanted
