Mid-Age Posted February 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2008 You mean total 7 (include 2 adults). Get 2 rooms, one for 3 and the other for 4. If you only have total 5 persons, Try RCCL, I think they have the stateroom for 5. However, you can not boot on line, you will have to call the cruise line of TA. Good Luck:cool:
mousecrazy Posted February 11, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2008 Is there a half way affordable way to cruise with 5 kids? NCL has lots of connecting insides and their 3-4 passenger rates are pretty good (about $199 - $399 for a week). They only charge port/tax for kids under 2. And I've seen RCCL offer $99 for 3/4 passenger. You'll be able to find cheap rates if you pick a popular itinerary with lots of competition...like the eastern or western carrib. Travel off-season (especially hurricane season). Can you drive to a port? - this will save you tons on airfare. Just some ideas to get you started. sandi1967 Posted February 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2008 Hi, We have 5 kids and are taking them on Carnival GLory in July. We are doing two inside rooms next to one another. We are driving to the port...so far the cheapest airfare is $1300....still cheaper to drive from Md than it is to fly. if you are past military Carnival gives a discount..that said I think most cruiselines do give a military discount. Good luck, sandi
RatherBFishin Posted February 11, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2008 Is there a half way affordable way to cruise with 5 kids? You have to define "affordable" more specifically. Plus it matter how old the kids are (infants for instance). Finally, the real killer is what it costs you to get to the port. If you have to fly 7 people all the way across the country, the airfare will be more than the cruise. On the other hand, if you: - Live close enough to a port where you can drive. - Are willing to go when school in in session, and pull the kids out for a week. - Willing to go on a shorter cruise (3-5 days). - Not too picky about the ship you want, or the ports it travels to. - Willing to let the cruise line pick your rooms based on what's left over. - Willing to book either very far in advance, or travel at the very last minute. Those are all ways to keep the cost rock bottom.
