Northern Lights in July

Has anyone actually seen the Northern Lights in July? I have heard of a few people who have been lucky. We will be going to Alaska in late June/ early July. We are taking a cruise, then a land tour to Denali and Fairbanks.

If anyone has seen the Northern Lights, where and what time? Also I would love to see pics of the lights, if anyone has any.

Thanks! :)

Nobody has seen Northern Lights in Alaska in June/July - it just doesn't get dark enough. The earliest I've seen them was a really strong show on about August 15th 4 or 5 years ago. Normally September is the earliest. You can see hundreds of aurora photos linked from http://www.explorenorth.com/aurora.html
