Konstancin Posted September 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2004 I'm looking at the aft suites on the 7th deck, but the TA wanted me to know that they had an obstucted view. Has anybody seen these and what is the opinion? We had aft cabins on Radience last year, and he warned that the view was not the same. I would be happy enough with central jr. suites, but it would mean being scattered (we'll have several cabins.) Does anyone have photos of these balconies? Thanks. serene56 Posted September 21, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2004 That was nice that the agent explained about the obstruction to you. The balcony itself is not obstructed but it is differnt on the aft of these ships. If you are not aware it can be a dissappointing vacation. On other ships on the aft--you can look down and see the water. On this class ship when you look down you will see a crew deck- Its on deck 6 so it wont be outside of your cabin. Here is a picture of the deck outside deck 6. http://community.webshots.com/photo/48328219/69832586dUpCqo I think the aft is awesome and would stay there again. As long as you are aware of the obstruction you should be fine. How often do we use the balcony to look down? we are always looking out correct? Here are other pictures looking down from deck 8 http://joephila.net/cruise/ship13.jpg Here is a picture of the balcony of the suite that we had next to us on deck 8 http://joephila.net/cruise/ship12.jpg That balcony was huge. We had a smaller balcony and were able to have about 20 people out there for our balcony party. 2 lounge chairs 2 reg chairs and a small table. here is a picture of about 10 people on my baclony. http://joephila.net/cruise/ship18.jpg here is the obstruction while looking out. http://joephila.net/cruise/ship14.jpg Let me know what you think

Cruisechik Posted September 28, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 28, 2004 Serene56 - I have a hold on Mariner's cabin 8390 (on end starboard side). It looks like this balcony has very little superstructure obstruction as it is situated on a "corner". Do you have any comments about this balcony? Thanks. serene56 Posted September 28, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 28, 2004 The Corner cabin on our deck had little obstruction. (it really isnt a bother as longas you are aware that it is there. Also the corner cabins had a door and not a sliding door. The view is awesome and very well worth the little bit that it is obstructed. Take the cabin- you wont be sorry. Cruisechik Posted September 28, 2004 #9 Share Posted September 28, 2004 yes, I'm gonna go for it, how can I not when a Philly person recommends it ;) BTW, I lived outside of Philly (Washington's Crossing in Bucks County) most of my life. Now I live in NC - I still miss authentic cheesesteaks :)
serene56 Posted September 28, 2004 #10 Share Posted September 28, 2004 aww, my kids were in North Carolina at Camp Lejeune. THey are home now. make sure you try the cheesesteaks onboard. THey are served in the dining room at lunch on the last sea day on the VOyager. Might I say- Since I am a tru cheese steak person-these knocked my socks off and were mighty tasty. Since you are missing them= you will be in for a treat- skip breakfast that day= its really worth it. (get the fries too)
