Legend/ Suite 100?

My husband and I will be on the Legend at the end of March. We did not choose our suite because it is usually not a problem where we are.

BUT...I just read that this particular suite has a different layout than most and the only way you can see the TV is by laying on the bed.

Please tell me this isn't true...I know that cruiseing isn't for TV watching but DH and I love to watch a bit in the late afternoon and my hubby's back would not allow too much time in bed...He has to go from chair to bed all night long

I've not stayed in Suite 100 but did go to a cocktail party and was pleasantly surprised at the configuration of the Suite. Many Seabourn Sailor's actually ask to book # 100 or 101. It seems like a small owner's Suite as the drapes close between the bedroom and the living area.

I can not remember the location of the T.V. ~~~but if this is important to you I would call the Seabourn Club Desk Manager and visit with him about Suite # 100.

Is this your 1st Seabourn cruise? If so, "welcome!"

Happy Sailing ~~~

I was assigned #101 (across the hall from 100) on the Legend last year, and loved the additional space in the suite. That said, the tv is positioned above the couch and isn't really viewable from there. You can move the chairs around, however, to the end of the bed and view quite comfortably.

If you haven't requested 100 or 101, chances are slim that you'll be assigned either of them. If you find that you are, you can always check with your agent or SB and request a change to a similar-rated cabin.

Here's a photo that might help you decide....

The flat screen, swivel TV is located in a cabinate just below eye level (when standing up), located on the left hand side of the couch (while seated there). You can easily view it from either of the 2 coffee table seats. The cabin layout, IMO, is excellent. The one negative point about the cabin is the fact that it is located at the front of the ship and in rough seas it can be noisy (the waves splashing up against the hull) and, if your prone to sea sickness, can be a problem.

Also, and Paul can confirm, that the anchor noise is an issue on days when that is lowered....

Oh, yeah...there IS that! :D Even though I was fore-warned, it certainly isn't something one can sleep through! But I wouldn't change cabins just for that! I had a lil' get-together(!) for some 12-14 of my "closest" friends (CCers & others) one morning, and that certainly can't be done in one of the regular suites!

I am not prone to seasickness (knock on wood), but if the seas were rough, I expect the very front of the ship is not where one would wish to be! Yet, even with my upcoming crossing, I'd be delighted to be assigned 100 or 101. It's truly a "mini-suite" and extremely comfortable for entertaining....

Suite 100 is also right next to the laundry room. I am not sure how noisy that is from inside the cabin. I used the iron and ironing board several times during my cruise on the Legend this summer and the laundry machines and dryers seemed to always be in use. Perhaps someone who stayed in this cabin can weigh in on the noise factor.

Suite's # 100 & 101 are usually occupied by the Bridge Instructor or the Lecturers. My friends from New Mexico that book # 100 never mentioned noise from the laundry room ~~but there is noise from the anchor. I wouldn't want to stay at the bow of the ship on a TA Crossing however ~~~would be too rough. In the Caribbean the suite would be fine!

Enjoy!:p

Thanks everyone...You have been much more helpful than emailing customer service. I have still not received a direct answer from them after several attempts. I find that an awful way for this company to respond.

That said...I am assuming now with the answers that have been given by all of you we will stay in the assigned cabin. We had booked this cruise many months ago and this cabin was just assigned to us. We did not request it. I did not think it was an issue until I started reading about the configuration. We have sailed on Seabourn before and hope to enjoy it just as much.

Thanks again

Why are you using e-mail? Just call the Club Desk when you need an answer. When waiting for a clerk to answer, you can wait a long time.;)

I was just about to call when finally I got an email form the reservation manager. He has offered to change our room or put in an extra TV for #100 so we can see the TV from our couch. I opted for the extra TV...Yeah...

Also we are staying on night at the Holiday Inn St Thomas on Veterans Dr. Has anyone stayed there before?

Yes I stayed there in 2005. It's not bad for a night. It's not a resort but they have an outdoor cocktail area, casino and restaurant. If you get an ocean view you can watch the water-planes take off and land.

Glad to hear that your Suite 100 TV issue is sorted out and that they did in fact reply to your email. :D

We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Veteran's Dr in St Thomas on 3/21/08 & 3/22/08. The good news is that it is fairly reasonable in price and that it is convenient to the restaurants in Frenchtown and the shopping in downtown. (The Oceana Restaurant in Frenchtown is superb.) The bad news, at least while we were there, was that the Holiday Inn has a baseball field next door that is also used for "music concerts." The noise from the band concert literally shook our room from 10:00 am on 3/22/08 to 1:00 am on 3/23/08. On a positive note...it did make our arrival on board the Legend seem even better, if that is possible. Thanks to everyone on this Board for suggesting Seabourn. This was our seventh cruise and first on Seabourn. It was everything you promised and more. We are already planning our next adventure on Seabourn! Thanks again.
