Jodster19 Posted February 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2008 We are not big into gambling but have to at least try a few dollars on board just to say we did. Does anyone know, can we just use cash or does the casino use our ship credit card? We will be sailing in less than two week. Thanks in advance. On the Costa ships that we have been on, in the casino you can either change cash (US $ or Euros) or charge against your credit card (for which a surcharge is applied) for the chips. Got this from the DW as she is the gambler in the family, my part was to count the winnings - most of the time I was unemployed.:( What Costa does not do is allow you to charge casino chips against your onboard account. Have a good cruise. Ron PS: Do we get a cut of your casino winnings for supplying the correct info? ;)
Jodster19 Posted February 18, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Ha, ha. SURE!!! Usually our "winnings" are ZERO!!! Do you still want a cut? Take care and thanks so much.
ecpc1302 Posted February 18, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Dear Ron, I read there are no ATM's on the Mediterranea so we are thinking of bringing some traveler's checks. Do you know how easy/difficult it would be to cash them onboard? We can get the checks at no charge from our bank and I hate paying those surcharge fees (less money to put in a slot machine). Thanks. Elsie:cool: Elsie, TC can be cahsed on board as there is NO ATM on the Med, following is from the Costa web site: Costa's onboard cashless system allows you to sign for drinks, shore excursions and other purchases onboard and apply the charges to your credit card. U.S. dollars and Traveler's Checks can be cashed at the Guest Relations Desk. Personal checks cannot be cashed onboard ship. With proper identification, most major credit cards are accepted at many shops in port. Please note: For sailings leaving from U.S. and South American ports, the onboard currency is the U.S. dollar. For sailings leaving from all other ports, the currency on board is the Euro. Have a good crsuie, DW says Black Jack is better than slot machines. I have been seen any differencies, he always comes back with an open (empty) hand.:( :) Ron

chajec Posted March 3, 2008 #9 Share Posted March 3, 2008 A few questions: 1) Is there any Texas Holdem on the Fortuna? 2) Do I understand correctly that if I want to get $100 in chips, I cannot put it on my room charge account? 3) What are the table limits for Blackjack and Craps? Thanks.
