safes and two way radios

I have a couple of questions. Does anyone know what size the safs on the triumph are? Will it be big enought for my laptop?

Also has any one rented or used two way radios on board ship? how was the reception? does anyone know what the rental cost is?

I love these boards everyone is such a great help!

Happy Sailing!

Safes will not be big enough for any laptop Iv ever seen. I had a desk on Ectasy that locked when the safe was shut and locked. No one else has ever mentioned this, so maybe it was just an oddity. I put my laptop in the drawer.

I know many who took their own two way radios and found them not as great as anticipated. If you are in a quiet place like a theater show, you dont want them to come on with your kids. Also hard to find a quiet channel that others were not on.

Here is a pic that Wennfred posted on our Carnival Spirit thread back in Jan/07. This is a pic of the safe on Pride. I would be guessing that they are all the same size. Maybe when someone sees this picture and has been on the Triumph they can then confirm this?;) :D

Just tuck the lap top in a closet under some clothes. I have never had a problem with mine. I don't leave it out in the open, and I usually keep it tucked away in an unused suitcase or between some clothes. We use ours to charge the i-pods, download pictures, etc.

If you see any other time in the future you may use the walkie talkies (the next cruise), just buy a set. Make sure you get a set with the vibration alert and the privacy channels. They work great and come in handy when we want to know where our kids are. If you can't find one of the thousands of frequencies free, you are not trying hard enough. The vibration alert ensures that your calls will not disturb others.

You can get a good set of 2-ways for $25 bucks. NO need to rent.

Careful though. Last time I used them I heard some older kids cursing some younger kids on them. They would just cruise through the channels cursing and harassing people. They were saying HORRIBLE things. Some kid was trying to talk to his mother on the radios and the older kids were saying "she's busy" and making up horrible things to tell the child his mother was doing. Use your imagination.

don't worry the radios is we get them would be for DH and my self. We like to do our own thing but want to stay in touch.. easier to touch base.. last cruise (6 years ago) we agreed to meet at the pool neither said which one and of we went to seperate pools, waited I went to check the cabin and then to the other pool. and DH went to the other pool and well it was a mess.

It is awful how some children will behave. same cruise got caught in a the middle of a food fight between children..

Thanks again.

Happy sailing.

We brought our own, and the only time we ever had an issue was when we were close to the radio room. Didn't realize at the time, but that was the only reason we could come up with (our cabin was close to the radio room and we had no issues anywhere else).
