CdnJeff Posted February 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2008 I'm a first time cruiser on the Explorer of the Seas in May. (1) What's the best way to get from LGA to Cape Liberty? (2) What's the best way to get back to LGA after the cruise? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Cruise transfers would be best as you are in Queens, NY and have to go to Jersey -- taxi would be very expensive. There may be car services, but you are better off taking ship transfers -- bought through the cruiseline -- even if you are cruise only. It's about 1 hr. 10 minutes to the ship -- with moderate traffic.

Not all sailings have transfers from the NY airports to Bayonne. A car service will cost between $85-100.00 EACH WAY. A taxi will generally cost more and NYC taxi drivers DO NOT have to take you to Bayonne. Since you are sailing out of NJ, if you can find air into Newark airport for about the same price or only slightly more, you will be far better off flying into Newark than trying to fly into LGA.
