I guess it would depend on what you want your cruise experince to be. It might be worth it to get a balcony for you and your DH and put your daughters across the hall in an inside cabin. Or price out a balcony for four vs. an inside for four. The balcony would allow you to have private time on the balcony if you still want to be with the girls. I have been in a balcony cabin with my mom and two sisters and we managed just fine. Most of the connecting cabins are on the lowest two passenger decks of the ship, or in the center of the ship on higher decks. I would suggest you NOT get a cabin forward on the ship. You will feel the motion there more, and being first time cruisers you don't know yet how that will affect you. Try for a cabin between two passenger decks; less noise. Directly above the Promonade deck you will be subject to hear the noise from the clubs and casino below. If you call Carnival direct they will quote you several options. Be sure to go to the Carnival site when you do call and pull up the deck plans so you can see what they are giving you as options.

Hope this helps! Above all, come on here and ask LOTS of questions! I did not find this site until after my first cruise and all my cruises since have been better for it! Most people on here offer great information!

Book the largest cabin you can afford--with kids in the room, it'll make life sooooo much easier! (No cruiseship cabins are huge, unless you book a suite!)

I've never found noise to be much of an issue--about the same as hotel noise levels!

Do try and get something "mid-ships" as there will be less motion, if that is a concern.

When you book, make SURE you have the deck plans, so you will know exactly what you're getting!

With two girls I would look at two cabins--the price may not be that much of a difference.

We did 5 to an inside cabin-- but the majority were boys who dont like to primp for dinners--especailly formal nights. We took showers in the gym spa are to have us all ready in time. DOnt want to spend precious cruise hours getting ready for dinner.

We did and inside for the boys (age 13, twins) and DH and I were right across the hall in a balcony!! It was well worth it for us, we enjoyed our

privacy and there were two bathrooms..lol! Last summer, I went with just the two boys and we had a balcony and it was just fine for the three of us. It all depends on what you are looking for and the cost! Price out all your options and then decide, thats what we did! You might be surprised that it may not be that much more expensive because its per person on a cruise (per my TA)! Good luck!
