Bringing your own Alcohol

Does anyone know if the Carnival Holiday Ship allows a person to bring their own alcohol, preferably wine? It is rumored a bottle of substance per person? Any info is much appreciated. This is first cruise EVER for me and my husband.

Bringing Alcohol On Board - Embarkation

 

Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages onboard. However, guests (21 years and older only) may bring one bottle (750 milliliter) of wine or champagne per person on board only during embarkation at the beginning of the cruise. A $10 corkage fee per bottle will be charged should you wish to consume this wine in the dining room or a $14 corkage fee per bottle in the Supper Club. Guests may bring a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages.

 

All alcohol, additional quantities of wine/champagne or excessive quantities of non-alcoholic beverages will be confiscated and discarded without compensation. Guests may purchase a variety of beverages on board the ship. Alcoholic beverages will not be sold or served to anyone under the age of 21. We reserve the right to refuse the sale of alcoholic beverages to anyone. Alcoholic beverages purchased in the ship’s gift shops or in ports of call will be retained by Carnival until the end of the voyage.

 

LARGE COOLERS RESTRICTION:

 

Carnival Cruise Lines does not allow guests to bring large coolers on board its vessels. Small, personal-sized coolers no larger than 12” x 12” x 12” for the purpose of housing small quantities of non-alcoholic beverages and/or medications are permitted as carry-on luggage. Screening and movement of large coolers through embarkation is an impediment to the boarding and security screening process and therefore large coolers are not permitted as carry-on or checked luggage.

If you bring wine, make sure you bubble wrap it. We brought two liquor bottles on board (yes, I know Carnival doesn't want you to) but we wrapped ours and had no problems. Take an extra bottle, cool it down in your room and take a glass of it to dinner. We did that and no one said anything about it. Saves the corking fee. Plus, I still spent a couple hundred on liquor while on board between two of us. Carnival still got our $$$.

When I was on an RCI cruise a few years ago, they allowed us to purchase bottles of liquor and pay the standard corkage fee to take them to our rooms. Does CCL do this, or will they keep everything we buy until the end of the cruise?

They will deliver it to your cabin on the last night of the cruise.
