Lunch in Dining Room

On most cruises lunch in the dining room is restricted to sea days, I'm assuming this is because not enough people use it on port days. Even on sea days, my estimate would be that less than 20% of people use it.

For lunch (and also breakfast) you are not seated at your regular dinner table, unless you request otherwise you will be seated so as to fill up large tables - good for meeting new people!

On most of our cruises most of the menu has been fixed for the entire cruise, 3 courses with 4-5 choices for each course. In addition there are 1 or 2 daily specials for each course. All in all, lunch in the dining room is usually pretty good!

We eat all our meals in the dinning room.

sea days are the only days you can have lunch.

It is so much nicer than the Windjammer

We go to the Windjammer for snacks etc.

There is a very nice menu for luch and why not be served your on vacation!!!!

There was some kind of Indonesian dish on the lunch menu in the dining room - like fried rice, with a fried egg on top, with chicken skewers. The name was something like "Nasi Goreng". It was SCRUMPTIOUS!

That does sound good! The thing I love about a cruise is that I get to be more adventurous in my eating. I order things that I would never try at a normal restaurant just because I am afraid of paying for something that I won't like. On a cruise I can always get something else. :D

Breakfast can be had in the dining room every day (including debarkation day), while lunch is usually limited to sea days. The lunch menu is constant (which you really only notice on longer cruises) with a few specials. There is also a pasta station where you can order pasta, sauce, and toppings and having it made right in front of you (or let the waiter order/retrieve it for you).
