Question for PVPam... please

Hi Pam... I read your post about Paradise Village in North PV. How far is that from the ship? Rather than take an excursion, can we just take a taxi and hang out there. Do they charge for using the hotel pool, etc. Is it nicer than the Krystal? Thanks for any input. We'll be cruising the Mexican Riviera in mid-December.

We did Paradise Village in September - loved it. The kids and grandkids had fun swimming in the pool and the beach was so warm. It took us about 20 minutes from the ship - we thought about staying past the noon departure and taking a cab back to the ship but we were ready to leave. In October, we are thinking about going to the Krystal.

They would probably charge you quite a bit more than whatever the ship charges to take you. It really is a beautiful place, gorgeous beaches. And as the other poster stated, about 20 min north of PV.

Paradise Village is a beautiful resort. They have towels to use as well as boogie boards and kyacks (just leave your card and pick up when you return). There are drinks on the beach. Restrooms and changing facilities. Lots of lounge chairs to sit at, both at the beach and the pools. At the marina, you can rent waverunners, parasail, etc. We really enjoyed it. I understand Krystal is pretty much the same. We are going to try that next.

I called Paradise Village today to see if, for a fee, we could use their facilities without the ship's excursion. Was told NO! I think maybe we'll take the ship's excursion and just stay there longer if we decide to, and pay for a taxi back. I would love to know if there's plenty of shade around the pool or on the beach. I don't tan, only burn, so I really need to be in the shade.
