Hair Dryers on the Spirit

First time on the Spirit 10-31 and NCL. Can someone tell me do all the cabins have hairdryers Thanks

yes they do have hair dryers and work great. Spirit was a wonderful ship and know you will enjoy the cruise.

I'm a little picky about using my own dryer. What is the maximum wattage again that will work?

I read somewhere that the max wattage is 500. Most hardryers exceed that & will blow out the circuit breaker in the whole wing. I understand that there are also some 220 circuits in the room. I wonder if an adapter would work & allow you to use your hairdryer?

I read that also about the hair dryer situation. Someone mentioned bringing a power strip along. Can we do this and will it work OK? What about bringing our flat iron (curling iron, etc.)? Will these work?

I told my wife about this thread and she blew a fuse. :eek: She prefers her own dryer and always brings a curling iron. Has anyone used their own curling iron? Did all the fuses on that deck blow? :confused:

 

As for the power strip, your thinking about a surge protector which will protect what's plugged into it, but will still blow a fuse if you overload the circuit.

On the front page of the Spirit's Freestyle Daily is this warning:

Curling Iron will work. Hairdryer on a power strip will not work neither will it work plugged in directly. I am picky about my hairdryer too. But it's only a week!

I was on the Spirit 9/11-9/18 and the hair dryer in my cabin was super wimpy and barely got warm. Use the hair dryer in the ladies changing room in the spa area as it is a lot more powerful and hotter.

I was on the 'Spirit' on the 9/11 AK cruise and the hairdryer in our room worked fine. There is only one US outlet and it is at the desk.

The 'Spirit' is a beautiful ship. We loved the freestyle.

I'm paranoid now that I would blow out the entire ship's electricity by bringing my own hairdryer, so I will go against my will and use the supplied one. For anyone on the 11/19 sailing, I'll be the one with the bad hairstyle :p
