Carnival Imagination Questions! Help Please :)

Hey everyone!

We will be setting sail in just 18 days! This is our 2nd cruise, but 1st one in at least 3 years so need some help. I have some questions!

NOTE- We are doing the 5 day (March 10th -15th) from Miami to Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios.

1) Is there a formal (dress up) night? There was on my last 7 day Elation. If there is a dress up night, what should one wear (for myself, a male, and my mom, female)? Im thinking a nice polo shirt and khaki cord pants? Or should I be wearing a dress shirt, with tie and dress pants e.t.c.

2) What is the age to enter the casino? I will be 18 on March 2nd (8 days before we sail), so can I enter?

3) Has anyone gone on that ship recently that can help us out on a review, especially with pics? That would be awesome!

4) Since there are only us 2, will we have to sit with other people or do you think we can get our own table?

5) Any important things we need? We are getting a vaccine (don't remember what) tomorrow night, and will be bringing our passports, health cards, e.t.c. with us for sure.

Those are the only questions I have as of now, but may and probably will think of more in the near future that I may need help on. In the mean time though, can anyone help me out with those few question?

Thanks a bunch!

I was just on the Imagination about two weeks ago.

You will have one Formal night. I usually wear a suit however you may be able to get by with a polo shirt but I would feel rather under dressed. If you don't want to dress up there are other dining options you can use.

I belive the casino age is 18.

I have not had time to post any recent pictures. The ship just went through a referb so a lot of things have changed. I do have a short video of what it was like on my website. I should have a new video up in a few days.

As for the dining room table, yes you will be seated with others. They do have a limited amount of tables for two, if would prefer that go to the dining room as soon as you board and request it, if there are any available they wull change your seating.

For where you are going no vaccines are needed, just the passport.

Oh awesome thank you so much for your help! It really helped.

I will probably wear one of my nice Lacoste Polo's and shoes, as well as nice pressed pants. Maybe my dress pants? We will figure it out when we start packing, which will be tonight for me ;) lol

The Imagination is basically the same layout as the Elation but it has just been upgraded. Pole shirt and dockers are what is the norm on regular nights, many to most will be wearing a suit, some will be in a tux possible. If you have either a jacket or a tie, that would work. I personally do not carewhat people wear but some insist on people following the rules. My thought is the lobster tail still tastes the same no matter what you wear. The do ask that there are no jeans or shorts in the dinning room at night.

The casino age is 18 as mt son was able to gamble in April on the Elation, just be sure to have ID each time you go.

Have fun.

Great thanks for the tips. I also like your theory, it works for me! I personally think aswell that as long as you look presentable (not a lot os skin showing, clean, don't smell bad, are groomed nicely e.t.c.) you do not need to be fully dressed up. But what the heck does my opinion do? nothing! lol

So this is what I'm thinking... I will bring my dress shirt (nice and pure black) as well as my black dress pants. I will not wear my tie (tooooo dressed up for a dinner, personally lol) and then wear my black and white puma's. That way I'm still being 'me', am not overdressing, but at the same time I am not under dressing. Do you think this would be a good idea?

I am so excited getting ready! Tonight I got more deodorant, and a few other things. I'm going to be getting a haircut shortly (about a week before we go), I just got an awesome new bathing suit and sun glasses over the christmas break (parents bought a house in Florida without telling me LOL! so we went there and I got good deals) and my mom agreed with me tonight to go to my favourite clothing store to get more polo's (love them! I really dislike t-shirts, they feel so thin and weird, yuck) to wear when im not shirtless/tanning lol *so excited to get tanned again!*

We finished a Back to Back on the Imagination earlier this month and we had a blast.

Yes, you can gamble at 18 and you can also get into the disco (which has an 18 year old minimum after 11pm). You will not be able to drink onboard the ship. Not sure about the ports. I know Mexico is 18.....

My boys (now young men 20 and 16) always wore Polos and khakis on nonformal night and dress pants, shirt and tie (if not a suit~~depending on if they were inbetween suits in their growing stages). So carry a shirt and tie for the formal night, which will be your first night at sea.

I don't know much about Canadian traveling out of the US, so someone else will have to help you there. We are Americans, so all we need is our passports.

There are a few tables for two at the end of each row of tables (you will see what I mean when you get there)...but there not are many so I would not count on that happening.

If you are into karaoke, Melvin is the Karaoke Host and he is wonderful. A lot of fun. They have the new digital system where you punch in your name and selection from a station at the front side of the lounge.

Jamie will be one of your Social Hosts. (if Noonan is on vacation taking Gemma back to NY...Jamie may be the ACD) Both are great. Tell them Noonan's Cruise Mom said hi!!

Be careful in Ocho Rios. The port area is MUCH better than it used to be, but I can't speak for the area outside of that. If someone offers you pot, just say no. It isn't worth being caught up in a sting operation and being sent to a Jamaican jail. If you want a tour, I would still go through the ship at this port.

Grand Cayman is very tourist friendly, but also very expensive. It is ok to use an independent tour there.

Have a great time!!

Just off the Imagination.

1. There is a dress up night. Shirt and tie would be OK. Polo and slacks and you will feel under dresses and receive a lot of stares from others.

2. I think the casino age is 18. Anyone can walk through the casino.

3. Use the search feature. There are some threads out there with pictures. The ship was just remodeled and looks great. Try the water works slide, you will love it.

4. When you board the ship, go to the Maitre'd and ask for a table that you prefer. His name is Bernal, he helped us on the Glory and Imagination. If available, he will gladly help you out.

5. Most important thing is to have fun. Bring a great attitude with you.:D

Oh great thanks for the help!

I will probably bring my tie, might as well. If Im already wearing dress pants and my black dress shirt I will probably wear my tie aswell. I don't want a lot of glares lol, they are akward!

I asked the casino question becuase on the Elation we weren't even allowed to walk through the casino (I was 15 and my brother was 17)... but will be 18 the week before we embark this time ;)

Whoa good idea about search! I will try that after this post...

Yup, that is no problem. I personally LOVE TRAVELING, especially cruises ('once you cruise... you can't stop' is my phrase) and both my mom and I are very positive people, so for sure we will be relaxed and have tons of fun! Only 16 days left! :D
