RCCL - Hump or Aft Balcony??

Which do you suggest? Both are available and the cost difference is about $100. Is it worth more money being on an aft? I enjoyed a hump balcony on the Jewel and loved it, is an aft much better?

It depends on the ship. The Radiance class aft balconies are pretty big with no obstructions, the Voyager class aft balconies have an obstruction. The hump cabins are more convenient to the elevators and have nice views both aft and forward.

The aft cabins are a loooooong walk from the stairs and elevators! (Guests are not allowed to use the stairs near the aft--they are Crew only!)

I prefer the hump area, since it's so convenient. And with just 2 of us, we don't need all that balcony!

We are big Aft fans especially corner afts on the Radiance Class. Pics of various aft balconies in the link below. We don't find the walk too long and value it as a way to keep the weight down. The afts are great especially on sea days because you are protected from the wind and :eek: rain.

Have no experience with a hump cabin yet so can only offer opinion on aft.

Agree with the comment about obstruction on some ships (not Radiance class) so we have booked 1702 D1 on the Independence rather than an aft so we maximize the view.
