ron317 Posted February 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2008 The following is the response I got from the Sunset Jamaica: "The cruise shippers day pass is for US $55 per adult. To get a taxi back to the pier will be no problem because we have taxi assigned to work with the hotel. It is required that you contact us two days before arrival so that we will have a better idea of what the occupancy would be and availability." We will be in Jamaica the first week of April. I was disappointed that I did not get a confirmation from them for that date. I hate not knowing about availability until two day prior to our visit. It makes planning very difficult. Has anyone else had this problem? Also does anyone know if they take credit cards?

Here is the mail I got: You can contact us at least one week before that date. Regards, Marvia Jones, Reservations Agent, Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort & Spa, Ocho Rios, St. Ann, Jamaica W. I. I highly doubt that you need a taxi though. The pier is within walking distance (5-10 min).
LynnTH Posted February 25, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2008 This is the info I just received also. I guess I was a bit disappointed as everyone had said the prices were $40 for adults and $20 for kids. I don't think I want to spend $180 for the 4 of us. Does anyone know if they just raised their rates?? mik Posted February 26, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2008 I just posted a detailed account of our experience last week (Feb. 16, 2008). We were charged $45 because that is what we were quoted and took the paper with us. It was a fight unfortunately, and not a pleasant way to start the day. The other warning about this place is that they arbitrarily changed the hours that the pass is good for. We were told 9am to 5pm as many of you were. However, upon arrival, they said "10:30 am". If you want more details of our experience, see my post dated today. The grounds are beautiful and there is a lovely waterpark for the kids, which was included when we were there.
