Are there any other members also staying in Rome and joining the same cruise who can give us information on a shuttle bus service to the port and/or would be interested in sharing transfer costs? There are plenty of options for private transfer if you Google Rome Taxis. We normally travel in a group of 8 or 10 + luggage & typically costs 180 - 200 Euros each way. I always book over the net & they ask for a credit card to secure booking but prefer cash to driver on the day. Allow one & a half hours for the trip. Joan of Oz Posted March 5, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted March 5, 2008 Hi Wilba Thank you for your advice on transport - we checked Rome Cabs and we can get transport to port for two people with luggage 130 euros. Also you may be able to tell us if we can book on board the Balmoral for transfer to Rome airport at the end of the cruise. Have not been able to find out if we can do this in advance?? Presumably there will be a coach to transport us all to the ship. You could try contacting Fred Olsen to see if you could use the same transport. However you must be on some package arrangement as we have been advised that we have to make our own arrangements to get to the Port from Airport or Rome City. We will be coming from City as we are staying in Rome for three days. We have not received our documents for the ship as yet but have all our flight tickets from Australia.
