Here Comes Jeanne - Enough Already!

I live in eastern PA and it looks like we're in for a rainy week. Towns near were I live are still cleaning up from last weekend's flood and the Delaware River is still running high. :(

On the other hand, it doesn't look as though the Dawn will be heading south next week.

NCL had a severe weather announcement on their web site today: http://www.ncl.com/news/pr/pr_severe_weather.htm
Norwegian Cruise Line continues to closely monitor the path of Hurricane Jeanne. As of today, Norwegian Dawn's itinerary will sail as planned. However, if the hurricane's track changes, the company's contingency itineraries are ready to ensure a safe and enjoyable cruise.

If a further update is necessary, NCL will post the information on www.ncl.com under "Storm Update" and advise the team in the call center, who can be reached by calling 1-800-327-7030.
Almost sounds like they want to passengers to be prepared for anything, including a change in itinerary.

Based on the current track, these folks are going to hit some rainy weather regardless of whether the ship heads north or south.

Just back from the Dawn and I would have been MUCH happier had we left Nassau the earlier evening; we went right through the edge of the Hurricane and it was horrible. 27-30 ft waves and we were moving so quickly. If the have a change in the ports-be happy you are not going through a hurricane!

I doubt if this week's 7 day itinerary will be diverted elsewhere other than Florida and the Bahamas. You might get rough seas going down today but Jeanne will be gone when you reach Florida and the Bahamas. The Port Canaveral options should be open Tuesday, as well as Miami and Nassau. Great Stiirup Cay may still be questionable.
