TwoMateys Posted March 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2008 I must print off my luggage tags as I booked within the time period allowing sent documents in the mail. I have printed them but since they are only on computer paper how do people prepare them to protect them or attach them during the luggage transfer process from dock to room etc. TwoMateys
terrib1964 Posted March 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2008 We covered ours with contact paper, but you could also just coat one or both sides with some clear packing tape.:)
*Mach* Posted March 5, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 5, 2008 I used 3M Laminating Pouches that I got at wally world... Five pouches for $2.88... Here's how they turned out... : I attach them to my luggage with plastic zip ties. These things are nearly bullet proof...

Sanger Cruiser Posted March 5, 2008 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2008 I just waited until I got to the pier and used the luggage tags that they had (the same ones that they have alway had). The luggage was at our door before we set sail.
curlymama Posted March 5, 2008 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2008 I used 3M Laminating Pouches that I got at wally world... Five pouches for $2.88... Here's how they turned out... : I don't have a wally world where I live (NYC). Do you have any suggestions as to what other type of stores might carry laminating pouches and zip ties? grandmato4 Posted March 5, 2008 #7 Share Posted March 5, 2008 I covered the tags with clear packing tape, punched holes, and attached them with twist ties. Couldn't have been easier ! :)
cruising forever Posted March 5, 2008 #8 Share Posted March 5, 2008 We used clear packing tape, hole punch at the ends and secured with plastic zip ties.........worked just fine :)
Richard's Mom Posted March 5, 2008 #9 Share Posted March 5, 2008 I just used clear packing tape. It worked fine. Since I have some time before my next cruise, I will buy some of those clear pouches. That will make it easier. Enjoy!!!!

Do you have any suggestions as to what other type of stores might carry laminating pouches and zip ties? Any place that sells office supplies will carry the laminant. We just used the twist ties that come with our trash bags to secure them.
LADYBUG34113 Posted March 5, 2008 #12 Share Posted March 5, 2008 I used 3M Laminating Pouches that I got at wally world... Five pouches for $2.88... Here's how they turned out... : I attach them to my luggage with plastic zip ties. These things are nearly bullet proof... That is the way to do it. Keep in mind, if you use string, it can be easily broken where with the zip ties, someone has to have a pair of scissors. I laminated the tags also, punched a whole in them and they look very nice and also very sturdy.
alphakitty Posted March 5, 2008 #13 Share Posted March 5, 2008 I used heavy clear packing tape and twist ties. I couldn't see buying laminate since I already had the packing tape. It worked fine and was very easy to do. :)
lvtotrvl1 Posted March 5, 2008 #14 Share Posted March 5, 2008 I just waited until I got to the pier and used the luggage tags that they had (the same ones that they have alway had). The luggage was at our door before we set sail. Same here! Seems much easier and just as effective:) .Never had a problem yet!
sandi-s Posted March 5, 2008 #15 Share Posted March 5, 2008 When you print them out I cut the tag itself off the paper instead of folding all those folds (just fold in half now) and use laminate or packing tape, I did the laminate, works great like everyone said!
