jairzinho Posted March 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2008 Tried searching just now, but it's painfully slow. Can someone answer this quickly? Are you allowed to bring a small travel iron on board? I'll be on LOS in 3 days. Thanks in advance.
Jungle Jane Posted March 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2008 Quick answer: No, but you can send your things to be ironed for pretty cheap.
Scorpiorose Posted March 5, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 5, 2008 sorry, no travel irons allowed, fire hazard! Tip: for your dressy clothes hang them in a dry cleaner bag or shopping hanging plastic bag, fold in half and put in a hanging bag or fold in half. I did this, shirts wrapped in tissue paper and unwrapped as soon as we were there, hung then in the shower area for steam, no problem. Enjoy! Host Karen Posted March 5, 2008 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2008 I always bring a travel iron. Use it, make sure it cools off, then put it away. Thought I would stave off the uproar that is certain to follow this advice. Travel irons are forbidden. Please read your cruise documentation for more information on items that cannot be brought onboard. Does this mean that everyone follows the rules? Obviously not. However, should your iron be found it will be confiscated. Save yourself the trouble and send your clothes to be pressed. The cost is reasonable. Two other alternatives are to use Downey Wrinkle Releaser, which has been recommended on this and the Cruise Fashions board, or bring a travel steamer. This thread is closed. Have a great cruise!
