Florida Lady Posted September 24, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2004 Hurricane Jeanne Update 09/24/2004 12:14:41 PM The U.S. Coast Guard has raised the Port Readiness to Condition Three (Port Condition X-RAY). No operations are prohibited at this time. It is anticipated that the USCG Captain of the Port will stop inbound ship traffic at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24. All ship traffic -- inbound and outbound -- is anticipated to stop as of 6 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25. However, Port Everglades will remain open landside for vehicular traffic. Cruise passengers should contact their cruise lines for updated information. http://lsta.broward.org/portemrg/emerginfo.asp
HP_Lovecraft Posted September 24, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2004 Century is scheduled to arrive in Port Everglades Sunday Evening instead of Saturday. But... I suspect that this will be moved to Monday, since some forcasters are saying Jeanne might slow down. This will also cause another nightmare for anyone flying in or out, since Jeane is predicted to move right up the eastern seaboard. So, this makes the 5th week in a row that Century has sailed a greatly modified schedule because of hurricans. Is this normal for Century this time of year? On a side note, I asked out waiter if there was any problems with the "extended 9-day cruise" 2 weeks ago. He said they totally ran out of sugar and cream for coffee, and had to use the supplies reserved for the staff..... which they were rather angry about since some people... myself include... REALLY DO NOT like black coffee. nick
