cmyers Posted March 9, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2008 What are some of the best winery's on vancouver island to visit?
bcscot Posted March 9, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2008 I thought that you were going to skip this beautiful part of Vancouver Island cmyers!;) The wine area is marginal & does not produce great wines, but it is picturesque & nice to visit. Try Vinoteca for lunch at the Zanatta Winery, in the heart of the BEAUTIFUL COWICHAN VALLEY. See www.zanatta.ca It is in a lovely rural setting. Also try Cherry Point Vineyard & Venturi-Schulze Vineyards. Enjoy!:) Graham.
cmyers Posted March 11, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted March 11, 2008 I'm not opposed to the drive and visting the Cowichan Valley if they have good winery's. We just don't want to spend our time in Duncan if their isn't much there. Thanks for your help and suggestions.
cruiseryyc Posted March 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2008 I agree with previous poster - lunch at Zanetta's is great (but make a reservation). They are now getting into the sparkling wines and have some really nice ones. Cherry Point Vineyard is another great spot - buy some of their blackberry port; poured over vanilla ice cream makes a wonderful dessert! There is a great B&B in the area that I would highly recommend - Pebbled Shores; perfect location for visiting the wineries in the area.
