Excursions

Recommended Posts

The Excursion lists have just come up for our cruise on the P&O cruise personaliser.

All are marked 20 or less places remaining and one popular trip only has an afternoon time listed.

Are we likely to see any earlier times come up on the site or should we book what we want as soon as possible?

Any help would be appreciated.

Unless the policy has changed, you can pre book excursions now and then cancel on board, provided you give notice - 24 or 48hrs I think.

Some excursions can be vey popular and do sell out, so my advice would be to pre-book now to guarantee your place. You can always amend your booking once on board.

By the way all excursions always seem to say 20 or places left !!

Depending on what you want to do I would book the excursion on line now you can always cancel once onboard.

But remember that most of the excursions can be booked on the dockside once you get to the ports. These are usually much cheaper to do by yourself.

I do realise before the P & O bandits get me that some of the more specialised ones cannot be booked in port. But taxi's are very plentifull and will take you around the islands for sightseeing.

You do not say which islands you are visiting, if you do then I am sure people will come up with more suggstions.

I would book now only the ones you REALLY want to do, that way you can relax knowing you are going.

I had my tour brochure about 2 weeks ago, and have just booked 2 tours out of 7 ports so far (they always say 20 places or less remaining - to panic you into booking)

I booked tours for my Sunday ports, reasoning the ports will be a bit 'dead' on a Sunday (Gib and Cephalonia in Greece)

Many of my ports are easy to DIY anyway so am not panicing (Venice, Dubrovnik, Split, Corfu and Cadiz) In Cadiz I am considering a trip to Seville but not worried either way, may wait until the port talk on a sea day to sway me .

As I said, just book the ones you really want to do now, I think is the way to go

Timetravellers.

In Flam I would recommend going on the railway to see the wateralls.

You can do this on your own. You can go onto the web site and book the train or just get off the ship early and go to the station to book. They fill the trains up and then go on to the next.

Well worth the money.

Bergen. We just walked to Briggan (sp) and into town and then went up the cable car. Very nice town to walk around.

Not been to the other two.
