Princess Star

Has anyone on cc been on the Star Princess, if so what do you think of this ship? We are thinking of booking on it late summer for a cruise to Alaska. There is a VS suite E733 available on the very aft of the ship but it is on the Emerald deck. It appears a theater is below it. Also our son would like to get a smaller cabin right to the side of us (E729) on starboard side. The life boats are several cabins down and would like opinions on how they would effect your view if at all, other then when you are on balcony you will not be able to see all the way to front of ship.

Help, I'm hoping some of you have been on this deck. I hate to pay a lot of money for a suite and be disappointed due to location.
