credit card or cash???

Wondering if credit cards are accepted in Freeport/Nassau in the shops, restraunts, eateries? Trying to figure out how much cash to bring on cruise.

Most take credit cards. Straw Market is cash.

Make sure to call your credit card companies if you plan on using them overseas. Also, ask them if they have an international service charge. Both of mine do. It's 3% of what you charged.

We have found you get a better exchange rate with the Card.

There really isn't an exchange rate. It is $1 for $1.

We learned our lesson the hard way............We tried renting a car with Discover.........they do not take Discover...

We charge everything.......however not everyone takes Discover..........I carry my Discover card always.....after we learned the hard way one of us carried an alternative card.

DH takes his VISA, I have Discover. A precaution....if something happens to one card, we have an alternative..........or at least some cash....just in caes:eek:

I charged some items from two different stores and Nassau and was worried about any charges my home bank would add on. (I didn't have enough cash, and needed gifts!) Both charges went through with no additional charges.
