ChBoxers800 Posted March 29, 2008 #26 Share Posted March 29, 2008 I thought the cruise lines required luggage to be locked. Not to my knowledge.
thinfool Posted March 30, 2008 #27 Share Posted March 30, 2008 If anything, TSA or other type locks tell anyone interested that you have things that you want to protect. Like a flashing light! Many travelers have had their locks disappear from non-TSA sources (more bolt cutters). Or, a box cutter can have a fabric bag open in a flash with no damage at all to the lock (why bother with the zipper). Zip ties, IMO will keep your bags closed without undue attention, discourage the occasional pilferer and let the TSA in without any trouble. As mentioned, the fingernail clipper will make the tie go away when you are ready. The old adage is still true..."Locks are for honest people". :)

Was that a ball point pen?
