fresnel468 Posted March 17, 2008 #26 Share Posted March 17, 2008 Just got tickets to go see Mr. Buffett when he comes to town less than a month before our cruise. That should set the mood nicely.
cathyoo Posted March 17, 2008 #27 Share Posted March 17, 2008 A few that weren't mentioned yet: Seasons in the Sun - Terry Jacks While I love Seasons in the Sun it is one of the saddest songs I have ever heard. I can't even imagine it on a cruise list of songs.
ShedQueen77 Posted March 17, 2008 #28 Share Posted March 17, 2008 While I love Seasons in the Sun it is one of the saddest songs I have ever heard. I can't even imagine it on a cruise list of songs. The reason I do include it is that it is one of those songs that makes me stop and appreciate the fine things that I do have in my life. Which at that time, happens to be a wonderful moment to spend time with and appreciate my family. It also lets me take a moment to remember my lost loved ones and remember that they're there with us as they would have wanted to be. I understand your POV, don't get me wrong. Most people would agree with you. I just wanted to clarify why I always include that song. Music does speak differently to everyone! :)
Ohdaisy Posted March 17, 2008 #29 Share Posted March 17, 2008 When the Sun Goes Down - Kenny Chesney ^^ it was quite popular when I went on my first cruise! I loved it... so much it is my cruise song this go 'round too :)

carribeansol Posted March 17, 2008 #32 Share Posted March 17, 2008 I must agree Jimmy was young in that video. He even had hair. Jimmy is on the top of my list but what about: Jack Johnson Maxi Priest Bob Marley and Dollar Wine!
DarthGrady Posted March 17, 2008 #33 Share Posted March 17, 2008 Numero uno on the top ten "Most inappropriate songs to play on a cruise" list has to be "My heart will go on" by Celine Dion. I mean, the fact that it was the theme song to the highest grossing film of all time doesn't override the fact that the movie was about a huge sinking passenger ship. And what song did Grady hear played not once, but twice on his last cruise? Yep. The great French Canadian diva herself, crooning that insufferable dirge. Socref124 Posted March 17, 2008 #42 Share Posted March 17, 2008
What are your favorite songs to listen to, to either get you in the mood for an upcoming trip, or to bring back wonderful memories?:)
I start playing 2 Pina Coladas by Garth Brooks about a month before we cruise. In fact, I'll be playing it tstarting this week. Since we live in Florida, we play it about 10 times while driving to the cruise terminal. http://itsallaboutimage.0catch.com/Music/Country/Garth37-TwoPinaColadas.wav "Drinking 2 pina coladas, one in each hand . Let all set sail with Captain Morgan", but we definately will leave dry land. Then, when we get on the ship, I go to the bar in the atrium and order two pina coladas, one for each hand. I haven't met the bartender yet that understands:D ...LOL
