cruisinbuddy Posted March 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2008 They're usually, in May and November. Look for something like, starts in Florida and ends in Rome, or something like that.
firefly333 Posted March 16, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 16, 2008 Yes, they are in the spring and fall generally. The problem cost wise is they involve one way plane fares, usually from over seas locations. If you have points to use then lucky you. Many seem to have free air fare. Carnival doesnt tell ahead of time very much when they will dry dock their ships. We just suddenly saw posts a week or so ago that some Glory folks were being contacted their cruise was cancelled for dry docking, and then more recently from Conquest cruisers who had to reschedule. A lot are waiting for the Fantasy ships to go into dry dock to get their evolutions of fun stuff, but the dates havent been announced.
sparkscruiser Posted March 16, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 16, 2008 Our Panama Canal cruise is a repositioning - we booked the Carnival Fly Aweigh fare becasue it's SO much cheaper to do it through them. Keep in mind that they also charge the transfers and airport fees in addition the the Fly Aweigh. But even at todays rates we will save a bundle on getting to Long Beach and coming back from Miami. You should join us! We are calling ourselves the Panamaniacs and our roll call is incredible. Almost 1700 posts and we are still more than a year out. Here's the link http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=678209 There is a great group of people on this ship - 75 CCr's and counting. Check us out.
