Sun Beach Resort - RCCL Excursion

Just returned from Navigator and did the Sun Beach Resort excursion. Don't feel that they gave us enough info on this excursion. After paying $39 per person, we found that everything there was an additional charge and most a hefty charge. It is a beautiful beach...right out of a movie set. If you're happy to just lay on a beach all day and be totally secluded this is the one for you. Families with younger children also seemed to be enjoying it, but take food from the ship with you. We left the boat at 10:00 and didn't return until 3:30. The only food they offer is a $5.00 hotdog and $7.00 hamburger. Both tasted re-grilled not fresh. All alcohol is very expensive. Most mixed drinks are in the $6 to $10 dollar range and in small glasses. There is no way off the island. You are taken there from the ship and returned to ship. I had read about the water taxis and thought we would be able to go to Belize City when we had our fill of the beach. This is not the case with this location. The only other activity is kayaks and they rent for $9.00 per hour. We thought we would be able to snorkle and they did have free equipment, but there was NO visibility. Something we had never experienced anywhere in the Caribbean. Think it had to do with the winds on the island. Had we realized this, we would have made a quick trip to Belize City and returned to the ship to enjoy the day there.

Just read the review, did u enjoy the re-grilled hotdog too? Why you only return to the cruisecritic forum when there is a bad review of sun beach resort ? To say "i loved the place" pathetic, and a check in all you posts tells the same.
