iflyrc5 Posted March 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2008 We will be on the Prinsendam over Thanksgiving 2009. We were wondering that since this is USA Holiday if the ship would be doing anything special for this holiday. Also wondering when/if they decorate the ships for the Chirstmas holiday as we will be on the ship until 19 Dec.

On of the options on the menu in the main dining room, was a traditional turkey dinner. Nothing else was special, and the ship was not decorated for XMas, however, I would strongly believe, considering the length of your cruise, your ship will be decorated during the voyage. dakrewser Posted March 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 18, 2008 There'll be Turkey on the menu for dinner, just as there'll be something special on the menu for Canadian Thanksgiving in October. But don't expect decorations. The only holiday that gets decorations (outside of something on the tables in the DR) is Christmas, and they won't go up (thank god) until after Thanksgiving. For the two Dec cruises we've taken the Christmas decorations were all up by the 9th.
Juanita462 Posted March 18, 2008 #5 Share Posted March 18, 2008 We were on the STatendam from Nov. to Jan. and when we got on the ship they had already started to decorate for Christmas - every day they would add something new to the decorations, it was fun to walk around and find what was new. The last thing they added was a gingerbread house in the Lido just before Christmas. The ship was decorated from stem to stern and was really beautiful.
