Government Employee/Military Rates for Hotels

Hello all! I wanted to remind all of you federal and state employees (and members of the military) to check for government rates when booking your hotel rooms. I am a state government employee and I have secured substantial discounts using my gov id (make sure you book the rate and have the id at check in) You don't even have to be on gov business. Marriott and Hilton Brands offer the best discounts. For example, when booking a Tampa port hotel for our August cruise, I was able to get the Hilton Garden Inn Ybor City for about $75 cheaper than the best internet rate. There are only a certain number of "government" rooms available, so its best to book early and on-line for the best rates.

Just FYI - many of my colleagues did not know of this, so I thought I'd share!
