Anyone used VIP shuttle out of SJU

VIP taxi and shuttle service.

 

Has anyone used this service out of the San Juan airport? We're getting a price at $10 pp including luggage.

 

Just need to know if they are reliable.

We always just get a taxi from SJU to our hotel or the pier. The taxis are plentiful and the rates are regulated. That way you don't have to sit and wait for them to fill up a bus for the transfers.

We have 9 in our party with 2 little ones. We really don't want to split up, nobody other than DH and I have done this before.

It sounds like the transfer is your best option then. I've seen six person van taxis, but nine people is a lot. I've not heard anything negative about the VIP Transfers, aside from having to wait 15 to 20 minutes for the bus to fill up.

I am a travel agent and the transfers we sell for Puerto Rico (SJU) are $59 per person round-trip. That is much higher than you are paying, and than a taxi.

 

Sounds like you are getting a deal for a shuttle, but still paying quite a bit more than splitting up into 2 taxis (approx $15 each way per taxi (not per person) plus $1 per bag).
