debbiearch Posted March 20, 2008 #5 Share Posted March 20, 2008 I'm wondering, too - we've done it on NCL and Princess with no problem. DH drinks Propel water, and wants to bring a case.
stsomewhere Posted March 20, 2008 #6 Share Posted March 20, 2008 We carried on a case of MT dew in Jan. on Triumph. No problem. We also, picked up soda when we were in port.
Rare Captain Funtime Posted March 20, 2008 #7 Share Posted March 20, 2008 On my most recent Carnival voyage...I packed the soda and mixers in a small folding bag and checked that. Worked fine. I have checked cases and 12 paks but not on Carnival.
FloridaLaura Posted March 20, 2008 #8 Share Posted March 20, 2008 I have always put 2 twelve packs in a medium size suitcase and checked it in with my other luggage, then I had an extra empty suitcase for souveniers and what not's
51ststate Posted March 20, 2008 #9 Share Posted March 20, 2008 I sent a case of water on thru baggage and didn't have a problem!
bostonbob67 Posted March 20, 2008 #10 Share Posted March 20, 2008 I would put the soda in a checked bag or carry it on board.
Rare GaryWT Posted March 20, 2008 #11 Share Posted March 20, 2008 Just read here about someone that said the porter would not take the water or soda if it was not in a box or bag. I think they were afraid the package could break open or something so they suggested it go inside a bag with proper labels/room tags.
debbiearch Posted March 20, 2008 #12 Share Posted March 20, 2008 What we've done on other lines is bought 4 12-packs, and duct-taped and shrink-wrapped them together. Under the last layer of shrink wrap, we put our luggage tag. Never had a problem, and didn't have to bring an extra suitcase. But it sounds like no one's done this successfully on Carnival, so we may have to rethink.
MommyTheMaid Posted March 20, 2008 #13 Share Posted March 20, 2008 There were 8 of us traveling together, so take that in mind. We made 2 different bundles. There were taped together with strong packing tape. Each bundle had a case of water and 2 or 3 12-packs of soda. We taped a luggage tag to each bundle and gave them to the porter with our suitcases. They all arrived safe and sound to our cabins.
