Maiden Cruise Policy

I am really hoping this is not an urban legend deal that some of the folks on our cruise are spreading but here goes. One of the people we are cruising with said to always book a maiden voyage on a cruise (either a new ship or one coming out of drydock) because if for some reason it does not sale you get a complete refund of your cruise fare for the cancelled cruise plus a certificate for another cruise at a future date. Could this prossibly be true?

The refund for not sailing is true for pretty much any cruise. Also, while not required to, cruise lines usually give a discount [percent varies] for a future cruise on that line. That also applies to pretty much any cruise
