shore snorkeling

hello..we will be in St Thomas in Feb on the Zuiderdam...we are looking for shore snorkeling there...we spent a week in St John last summer so really more interested in trying the snorkeling in St Thomas...Is it good at Shapphire Beach? we were thinking of renting a car...thanks Marianne

Hi- I was snorkeling off Sapphire beach in March.. I would say it is ok...but enjoyed the beach. We will be trying St. John this trip in December. Donna

Coki beach is better for snorkeling.

If you are renting a car you can beach hop... Coki has good snorkeling but, it gets crowded by mid-day so you might head there first and snorkel and then continue along to Sapphire or Secret Harbor for lunch (both have restaurants) and more snorkeling and beach time... or after lunch do an island drive/tour.

Coki Beach is just OK for snorkeling. It was pretty but nothing that special. We did do an intro to scuba class/dive there and that was fun. Got to see lots of things that way.
