what time should you book a return flight from rome

We are traveling on Celebrity to the greek islands. Our ship arrives in rome,(Citavecchia) at 4 am.. What time would it be safe to book a return flight from Rome (fco) airport. Someone has told us a 10 am flight would work , our travel agent says not to book before 1 pm.. However flight from there to here are few after that 1 pm time.

If you are planning on flying out that day I wouldn't book anything before 1 pm, I'd say the earliest around 2:30 pm.

 

Usually, you debark around 10:00 am perhaps you might leave earlier if you sign up for the earliest debark time. You'll have to go through customs and then it's a two-hour cab ride from Civitavecchia to Rome.
