If I understand you right , you would like to meet a local resident at the ship. The Port of Honolulu will not allow people other than passengers to get anywhere near the ship.

They have a nice little shopping center (Aloha Tower) right at the pier location. I would have them (if local) name a place there to meet you. You did not mention what cruise line you are taking. If it is NCL then it will be a the Tower. If it is Celberity, RCCL or HAL it will be a pier a little over a block away.

Sorry, I was not clear. Yes it is a local resident. We are sailing on the Diamond Princess. So I was trying to find a place as close to the ship as possible which would be easy for both of us.
