Menus, Traditional vs. Anytime

OK, so what about people like us - I was never offered anytime by my TA, just early or late. We took late, which is fine and is showing as confirmed on the Princess site - and is what we'll do unless we pay the cover for one of the specialist restaurants, but I would never have even known about Anytime if it wasn't for the Princess site / forums ike these. Others may be in a similar position who would have chosen Anytime had it been offered.
If you like to eat later, late Traditional dining will work out fine for you. Unless you like to eat really early (around 6PM or earlier), you could very well wind up having to wait for a table if you did Anytime, particularly the later you like to eat. I've done Anytime twice and the first time, we just showed up between 8:15 - 8:45 and still had 15 - 25 minute waits every night to be seated. The second time, we made a reservation for the same table at the same time in the Anytime dining room at 8PM and had waits of between 5 - 45 minutes. It's successful for many but if I've already had my drink and want to be seated at dinner, waiting that long isn't my forte.

Personal Choice dining refers to the overall dinner choices. So you have the dining room (traditional or anytime, depending on your booking), the buffet, the alternative dining rooms that have a cover charge, Ultimate Balcony dining (also a charge), and regular room service (which usually just means sandwiches and salads, unless you have a suite).

If you select traditional with the idea of going back and forth between the t.d. and the a.d., then you're cheating those who want t.d. but end up on a waitlist and those who want a.d. who you may be causing to wait for a table if you're able to sneak into the a.d.r.

We had late traditional dining on our last cruise, and all 15 days we ate in our d.r., except for the night that our daughter was feeling iffy and we just went to the Horizon Court. Many of the same food is in the buffet so it's not a big deal.

You may all agree till the cows come home. The question was CAN you do it to which the answer is YES. Its another question whether or not you should do it.

If I have paid $10,000 for the cruise on Island I will do the things I want to, after all Princess moto is Personal Choice Cruising

Yeah, so? The rest of us aren't traveling for free. We all pay big money for our cruises and expect to be able to eat where we booked in advance.

I looked this up in Princess' Cruise Answer Book - it says if you want to change your dining option you need to "call your TA no later than 3 weeks before your cruise, and that all requests for preferences and changes will be considered on a first come, first served basis".

Hmmm...where does it say that you can switch back and forth?

If you think you CAN, it's only because you got away with it.

These boards are not the Princess Police. I will continue to share my soda card and if I choose not to eat at traditional I will eat elsewhere. I will advise every one that needs to know.

Wow. And they say Americans are rude.

$10,000 doesn't give you the right to be arrogant, ignorant and rude. I guess that comes naturally to you.

No, we are the Princess police, just people who try and share in common curtesy.
