CRUISERTN Posted March 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2008 Just read an article in a recent CRUISE TRAVEL magazine of a new 72 passenger ship called the Iberostar Grand Amazon....owned by Spanish Iberostar Hotels and Resorts....that does 3 and 4 night cruises round trip from Manaus, Brazil to the Amazon...they recommend combining the 3 and 4 night cruises for a 7 night cruise of the entire area.....Looks like a great way to do the Amazon....has anyone been on this cruise or know anything about cruising the Amazon? We are strongly looking at doing the 7 night cruise sometime next year.....does anyone have any ideas or suggestions????? Has anyone ever cruised with the Iberostar lines? NC&KY Posted May 9, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2008 We want to do the same cruise next summer. Good reviews from cruise books, but no word from anyone on these blogs.
MSEm Posted May 9, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2008 If I remember correctly, Viking River Cruises Tours offers a 7 day trip on the Iberostar with a short land tour. Picturs and describtion of the river vessel look very nice. You may want to check Viking River Tours. VR may be chartering or booking cabins for some journeys. raringtogo Posted May 19, 2008 #4 Share Posted May 19, 2008 my brother just today disembarked off this ship (4 nights cruise) and he said it was wonderful. Not sure if all cruise tickets are the same, but he was with a Pharmacy Convention and all cabins had balcony's, food was excellent, all tours were included such as Alligator spotting, visits of villages etc., they had a really great time.
