Softball20 Posted March 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2008 Hi, We were in Rome last year, and two restaurants we really liked were Sabitini, in the Trastevere area and Nino's, which is near the Spanish Steps. They were both really good. We recommended Sabitini to some friends who also went last summer, and they all liked it as well. It's in a great little piazza, you can sit outside, and the food was really good. My daughter had an outstanding seafood risotto! I don't recall it as being very pricey at all. Have fun. photographia Posted March 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 28, 2008 Al Fredo's is just off the Corso, facing the Mausoleum of Augustus. It's the home of the original fettucine Al Fredo. The walls are filled with framed photos of famous people who over the years have eaten there; yet it doesn't seem particularly touristy, and whenever I've been there, it's not crowded at all--possibly because it's around the corner from the Corso and not immediately obvious to the masses (?). The owner has contracts with farms outside the city, that ship special fresh eggs and butter directly to him. One bite of that fettucine Al Fredo and you'll absolutely DIE!
