margincall Posted March 29, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2008 Are the falls worth seeing if we were seeing falls in Dominica the day before. Or do you think maybe seeing the fort, the lake and the rum estate with some beach time would be better Also how difficult is the walking just to view the falls Thanks in advance
JeannetteC Posted April 1, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2008 I think you can skip the falls. They are lovely but not extraordinary. In addition, this is the dry season and the falls weren't at full capacity in March. See my response below regarding A & E tours regarding the traffic jam to get to the falls in the late morning/noon time. Jeannette
David (and Julie) Posted April 10, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2008 The falls are worthwhile if you want to dive in and have a photo taken while underneath the falls. Otherwise you can see similar in Dominica. The walk down to Annandale Falls is all paved path and stairways, about 100 yards total of easy walking. We walked further and did more stairs going from our cabin to the dining room on the cruise ship. BTW, try to snorkel at Champagne Beach when you are in Dominica. The volcanic gas bubbles in the water are something you will not see anywhere else in the Caribbean.
