lesleyfb Posted May 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2004 A daily newspaper in Britain is running a promotion at the moment that if you collect 35 daily tokens you can cruise for £10. This means a single inside cabin with return economy flights, airport & port taxes/charges. The cruise operators they are using (but not limited to) are Royal Caribbean, NCL, MSC, Costa, Marco Polo and Thompson. They may offer additional cruise itineraries and destinations as appropriate to equal or greater value to the offers stated. You can cruise between Sept 04 and May 05. Destinations include the Caribbean, Mediterranean or South America. I know it seems too good to be true and I have been over the small print with a fine tooth-comb but it states “as long as you are prepared to be flexible with your dates of travel they will honour all bookingsâ€. Where I think they are hoping to make money on this deal is by limiting the offer to single cabins only. If you want to take your partner then its £1,144 per couple. I am definitely going to take them up on this offer because I have flexible dates and I don’t care where I go and I don’t mind travelling on my own. So look out for me on an up and coming cruise where hopefully it will have cost me the whopping sum of £10!
nocaper Posted May 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2004 I don't live in the UK, but I am curious. What are the daily tokens you collect?
lesleyfb Posted May 20, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted May 20, 2004 Every day when you buy the newspaper there is a small token which you cut out and save. Its strange, I posted this also on the NCL and RCI boards and my posting has disappeared. It is definitely being pulled cos I posted it again last night and its gone this morning. Strange. Guest Anorak33 Posted June 13, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2004 I'll bet that most of the successful coupon collectors end up on a Thompson cruise. To me that would be like a week on a prison hulk although I am sure that many would enjoy it. Usually there are so many hurdles to clear, specific dates to meet etc that they don't end up selling many cruises for £10. Its very common for newspapers to run similar offers here for flights as well - it certainly boosts their circulation for a while. You have to be very careful not to miss even one day's coupon or you won't get your ticket. marco Posted June 17, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Are you sure it is not, "If one passenger pays the standard fare, the accompanying person pays just L 10?" If it comes to L 1144 a couple, that's just about what the going rate for a 7 day cruise is.

lesleyfb Posted January 12, 2005 Author #7 Share Posted January 12, 2005 Received the long awaited phone call from MKM Promotions (aka Rise Travel) and am booked on the MSC Melody (in a single inside cabin) on 11th July 05 for the Genoa to Genoa cruise. Flights from Heathrow to Malpensa then by coach to Genoa - all for the total sum of £10.

czechmate Posted January 13, 2005 #9 Share Posted January 13, 2005 lesley - congratulations and have a great cruise. You are lucky they are allowing you to cruise outside that window of September 2004 to May 2005 mentioned in opening thread. No doubt they find it pays. I when living in U.K. frequently took advantage of these promotion offers. Had several great flight deals e.g. London/New York return for Sterling 5.00 pounds and also 2 weeks in Majorca for one pound sterling!
