beasfriend Posted March 31, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2008 We're planning on taking the bus over to St David's from St George and seeing the lighthouse, the fort, and having a drink/snack at the Black Horse Tavern. (Is there anything else to see?) How far apart are these from each other - can we get off the bus and walk to all or are there a couple of bus stops. On previous trips we've been all over the island on the buses and ferries, but never to St Davids.
SNB Posted March 31, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2008 The bus services St. Davids once every hour. It could be a lengthy walk between the fort and the lighthouse, depending on how fit you are. If you catch the bus to the fort first and spend some time there until the next bus that will take you to the lighthouse. From the lighthouse you can walk to Black Horse. I would catch the bus right up to the lighthouse, then walk downhill to the fort, as SNB said it can be an easy walk if you're in somewhat okay shape, but if not, it can be quite a task in the summer heat. If you leave Black Horse for last, you can cool down after your walk. The distances involved are really short bus rides. If you're capable of walking for half an hour without passing out in the bushes you should be okay.
flashdog_1 Posted April 3, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 3, 2008 And the bus to St Davids is part of the ferry regular bus service (as opposed to the mini bus to Fort St Catherine's that is NOT a part of it. And yes, I know the fort is being renovated right now)? Thanks
